4-5 apples, diced

¾ cup sugar, or less, to taste

½ cup Medjool dates, chopped

½ cup walnuts, toasted and chopped

2 tablespoons buckwheat flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon. Salt

¼ teaspoon. Nutmeg

2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted

1 egg, beaten




  • In a crockpot, mix apples, sugar, dates, and walnuts.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg and then stir into apple mixture.
  • Drizzle melted coconut oil over the batter and stirred again.
  • Mix in beaten egg.
  • Cook on low for 3 – 4 hours. Serve warm.


NOTE: If you prefer crispier nuts, add toasted walnuts at the end of the cooking period.
